Round Five of the BSB 125 Championships came from the former airfield at Snetterton near to Norfolk. With warm and dry weather expected for most of the weekend, conditions were set for a fast paced race.

Friday Free Practice 1 saw Robbie slowly easing a rebuilt bike in; setting a lowly 44th best time of 1:23:418; more than 7.6 seconds off pace-setter Luke Mossey.

However, with the new crank and cylinder properly bedded in, Robbie set about upping his pace in Free Practice 2, setting a fourth best time of 1min 15.915secs. Everything was looking good for qualifying.

Saturday proved to be a busy day - with 53 riders out chasing 44 places on the grid, there were a lot of bikes on track. Still that was not problem for KRP Racing #17, posting the 3rd fastest time of the first session, despite niggling problems with the front end and changing rear shock settings.

Qualifying 2 was cut short by a fast crash, resulting in only 14 laps completed. However, Robbie had had enough time to quicken his pace from Q1 and he posted the combined 3rd fast time overall, just 0.809secs behind pole Ashley Beech. Frustratingly, Robbie's sector times for the lap he crashed on showed that he would have set a time good enough for pole position.

Race day was a bit cloudier, but conditions were still good. Robbie was well on the pace during warm-up and he was ready to race. Mark Keen of KRP had provided Robbie with a fast bike, and he was confident that he had the pace to beat all of the competition. And so it proved.

Robbie got a good start, taking second place on lap 3, and then jumping into the lead for the first time on lap 8 of 16. The middle part of the race saw the lead change three times as Robbie battled with Luke Jones and Michael Wilcox. However, with four laps to go, Robbie took the lead for good, opening up a one second gap to win from #34 Wilcox 2nd and #82 Jones 3rd.

As well as the win Robbie also set the fastest lap of the Cup riders - 1:14:408.

After the frustrations of the difficult start to the season, the win came not only as a big relief to the young Bridge of Earn rider, but some would say, about time too!

Robbie would like to thank Pro-Scot, Digby Brown, KBC Helmets and all his other sponsors.
